NEW PHILADELPHIA ‒ The Tuscarawas County Humane Society is investigating an incident in which bleach was poured on a dog.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office received a report of the incident around 6 p.m. Monday. Deputies then traveled to Nageley Road in Goshen Township. They confirmed that bleach had been poured on the dog, a 5-year-old German Shepherd. The dog was then put into the custody of humane society personnel.

The condition of the dog is being evaluated by a veterinarian, according to Kayla Freeman, administrative assistant at the humane society. No further information on the dog's condition is available.
