Topeka residents can soon hit the Tee and spill the tea with new city manager

Interested in meeting the new city manager Robert Perez?

Topeka administration and the Greater Topeka Partnership are pairing up to host a meet and greet event from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at The Tee Box, 906 S. Kansas Ave., Suite 100.

Mayor Michael Padilla said at a recent news conference that Perez has become a local celebrity of sorts with all the requests to meet him the city has been getting from residents.

"This is an exciting opportunity for the people of Topeka to come out and meet Dr. Robert Perez," Padilla said in a written statement. "We are confident that under his leadership, our city will continue to thrive and grow. I encourage everyone to take this chance to connect with Dr. Perez, share your thoughts, and extend a warm welcome to our new city manager."

Snacks will be provided at the event.

Great Topeka Partnership CEO Matt Pivarnik said he is proud to partner with the city to welcome the new city manager.

"This open house event at The Tee Box is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, get to know Dr. Perez, and experience the warm hospitality that our downtown businesses are known for," Pivarnik said in a written statement. "We believe in fostering strong relationships between our city's leadership and the residents, and this event is a perfect way to kick off what we know will be a successful tenure for the city manager here in Topeka."
