Rams win big on homecoming night

On Friday night, it was Homecoming for the Starmount Rams as they hosted North Stokes at B.W. Holt, Jr. Stadium. The home crowd was not disappointed as the Rams (5-1, 1-1) defeated the Vikings by a score of 65-0.

In the first quarter, the Rams jumped to a 14-0 lead behind Kinston Crater’s 6 yard touchdown run and Aamir Adams’ 36 yard touchdown reception from Luke Collins.

The Rams exploded for 35 points in the second quarter to take a 49-0 lead into halftime. Crater caught a 29 yard pass from Collins. A couple of plays later, Sam Shore picked up a Viking fumble and raced 32 yards for a score. The final three scores of the half came by the brotherly duo of Jymir and Savian Billips. J. Billips scored on two touchdown runs of 1 yard. S. Billips scored on a 20 yard run.

With the running clock rule enforced in the third quarter, the Rams got a 28 yard field goal by Yahir Angulo to make the score 52-0 heading into the final quarter.

The final quarter saw Cody Hernandez scoring from 15 yards out and Deuce Best scoring on a 66 yard score as time expired. Angulo was perfect on all his extra points attempts.

The Rams will host the Carrboro Jaguars on next Friday in a non-conference game.
