On Tuesday, Wilkes County Commissioner Stoney Greene turned in his resignation to County Attorney Tony Triplett. Yadkin Board approves amendment to opioid litigation
During its May 6 Board meeting, the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners approved a 3-year contract with Innovative Employer Health Solutions to operate the Employee Wellness Clinic. Traphill woman charged with attempted murder
A 39-year old woman is facing multiple charges after stabbing a man on April 26. According to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 224 Lovette Lane in the Traphill Community in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim was en route to Hugh Chatham Hospital in a personal vehicle. After further investigation deputies learned this was a domestic situation and Selena Lovette was charged and arrested for attempted first-degree murder, misdemeanor domestic violence, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and misdemeanor child abuse. The individual who was stabbed has been identified as 42-year old Joel Spicer. Authorities said he was treated and released the same day.
Substitute teacher charged with child abuse
A 74-year old North Wilkesboro man is facing a misdemeanor child abuse charge after an alleged incident at a Wilkes County School. According to authorities, on Thursday, the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Wilkes County Schools regarding an assault on a student by a substitute teacher. Upon further investigation, the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Keene Kent Kruckenberg with one count of misdemeanor Child Abuse on Monday. It has not been released which school the incident occurred. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident remains under investigation and no further details are being released at this time.
