Disco Turkeys Independence Day fireworks show gives locals a new option
The Carolina Disco Turkeys are pleased to announce their home game on July 4 at Wake Forest’s Couch Ballpark will now include a post-game Independence Day fireworks celebration. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. with the Disco Turkeys taking on their Southern Collegiate Baseball League rivals, the Uwharrie Wampus Cats. Sheriff's Office requests pay increase in 2025 budget
A second public hearing regarding the Yadkin County 2025 fiscal year budget was held Monday. At the June 13 public hearing 19 people spoke in favor of a significant pay increase for employees requested by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office. Yadkin County Retired School Personnel announce scholarship winners
The Yadkin County Retired School Personnel gives the Fred C. Hobson Scholarship each year to a senior planning to major in Education at Forbush High School and Starmount High School. The amount of the scholarship this year is $1,000. The scholarship is named after a former longtime superintendent who served as the Yadkin County Schools superintendent from 1939 to 1971. SCC to offer NC Real Estate Broker, Pre-Licensing Course at the Yadkin Center on Aug. 5
Surry Community College is offering a North Carolina Real Estate Broker, Pre-Licensing course that will meet at The Yadkin Center, 1001 College Drive, Yadkinville. The course will start on Monday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. and will provide students the knowledge to take the N.C. Provisional Broker Exam. The class will meet in person for the first meeting on Monday, August 5; remainder of the course will meet online synchronously.
