The mood was festive, party-like and celebratory as Walmart Store 1910 on Washington Blvd in Crescent City and General Manager Miguel Mata welcomed customers and associates to recognize the first major remodel in 12 years. Mata proudly exclaimed Friday’s recognition was “ …our second best day ever.” The inference to “…the second best day, ever” followed the Grand opening of the Store, in 1992.

Remodel coordinator Junior Jones sang the National Anthem following Mata leading the Pledge of Allegiance and the posting of colors by the Pelican Bay Honor Guard. The weather was misty but cooperative before a crowd estimated to be between 50-75 folks. Walmart store managers from both Medford Walmarts, Roseburg, Coos Bay, Grants Pass and Eureka, plus the corporate Marketing team were on hand to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Store 1910.

Personal shopping continues and now Walmart will home deliver customer orders. The pick-up portal continues to provide its service on the west side of Washington but plans to move the pick-up area to the east side, shortly. Mata said, “…the Crescent City Super Center Store is the model for the future. The 154,000 square foot store has new flooring, fixtures, upgraded apparel items. Mata continued, “ the customer can walk into our Super Center store and all merchandise and products will be in exactly the same location as other Super Center stores across America. Customers will have no difficulty in locating their items.”

Store Manager Mata heaped plenty of praise on associates, his marketing team and vendors who assisted in making the difficult transition during the remodel, with no store closure. Section by Section, the remodel covered several weeks and posed some inconveniences to customers in attempting to find their items. Alas, Friday April 26, the remodel was completed.

Community support from Walmart continues. During Friday’s Reopening, Mata delivered “two checks to the Del Norte Sheriff ‘s K-9 program and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), both in the amount of $4000.

It’s back to normal today as customers shop at the sparkling new remodel of Crescent City Walmart on, “… the second best day ever.”

The one in klamath falls is a real shit show! Most everything is locked up, with a good 15 min. wait for a key, then they want to charge you for using self checkout when they only have one cashier! The plant section is just disgusting! Plants come in, only to never get watered, while a 300lb employee stands there doing nothing!
