    It’s rodeo time at Cattlemen Park

    Put on your boots and spurs and hitch up your horse. It’s rodeo time at Cattleman Park.

    The Pike County Cattleman’s 31 st annual Professional Cowboys Association Rodeo is set for Friday and Saturday nights, August 25 and 26 at Cattleman Park. Around 100-plus cowboys and cowgirls from throughout Alabama and several other states will compete in eight exciting rodeo events.

    Cattleman Johnny Garrett said the Pike County Cattlemen’s 2024 Rodeo will open the gates at 5 p.m. on Friday with the rodeo at 7:30 pm. and at 4 p.m. Saturday for the Kids’ Western Festival at p.m. The PCA rodeo will begin at 7:30 both nights.

    Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Ages 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.

    Advance tickets are available at Troy Bank & Trust Main Branch, Don Walker’s Western Wear, Banks Buy-Right and Piggly Wiggly Brundidge.

    Garrett encourages all rodeo fans to come early, eat, shop and ride the mechanical bull.

    “The Pike County Cattlemen will have their famous Rodeo Burgers and Rodeo Dogs on the grill, dill pickles on a stick and chips and more inside the park.

    Everyone is invited to “rodeo” at Cattleman Park August 23 and 24.
