The 2024 Pike County Cattlemen’s 32nd Annual Professional Cowboy Rodeo will continue Saturday at Cattleman Park. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the rodeo will begin at 7 p.m.

The Kids Western Rodeo will begin at 5 p.m. The winners of the mutton bustin’ competition will be invited to attempt to ride the sheep during intermission for the enjoyment of the audience.

As estimated 100 cowboys and cowgirls from three states will compete, over the weekend, in the eight most popular rodeo events. There will be riding, roping, barrel racing and bull riding and every event will be challenging and exciting, said Pike County Cattleman Johnny Garrett.

The Pike County Cattlemen’s Rodeo features an announcer on horseback, who brings the rodeo up close to the audience, and also features the funniest of funny clowns.

For the local cowboys and cowgirls, who would like to mount-up, the mechanical bull will be in the pen.

Garrett said the Pike County Cattlemen will have their famous beef burgers available inside the building along with hotdogs, snack items and the ever-popular dill pickles.

Inside, there will also be a wide selection of Western items for sale including hats and shirts.

Garrett said the Cattlemen’s rodeo is the place to be this weekend. The weather should be “good,” a big crowd is expected and, as always, the price is right for a night of family fun at Cattleman Park.

Advance tickets are $15 at Troy Bank & Trust Main Branch, Don Walkers, Banks Buy Rite and Piggly Wiggly in Brundidge. Gate tickets are $20. Ages 5 and under are free with a paying adult.
