The University of Alabama’s second home game of 2024 will include a tribute to a coaching legend and much more.

Here's a look at some of the activities that will surround the game:

    Pregame festivities

Champions Lane , a 60,000-square-foot fan fest area, will open at 1:30 p.m. northwest of Bryant-Denny Stadium on the lawn behind the Tuska statue . Admission is free.

Champions Lane features food trucks, four giant screens showing live college football games from around the country and a 1,200-square-foot concert stage.

This week, fans can have their picture taken with championship trophies earned during the Nick Saban era. There will also be a commemorative poster and Yeti cups for sale.

At 2:30 p.m., a ceremony will be held at the Walk of Champions to reveal the signage for the newly dedicated Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium with Nick Saban, UA President Stuart Bell and UA Director of Athletics Greg Byrne scheduled to speak.

Nick and Terry Saban will also be honored during halftime of the game.

The Crimson Tide pregame radio show will broadcast from Champions Lane beginning at 3 p.m.

Fans can get autographs from UA rowing and baseball teams and a free concert will feature Smith Distillery on the Bud Light Backyard Stage.

    Walk of Champions/Elephant Stomp

Two of UA's most popular pre-game rituals take place within walking distance of Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Walk of Champions and the Elephant Stomp.

Fans can cheer the UA football players, coach Kalen DeBoer and the UA coaching staff members as they arrive by bus for the game at 3:30 p.m. along the Walk of Champions on the north side of the stadium. That's the side of the stadium that also includes statues of Alabama’s national championship coaches — Paul W. "Bear" Bryant, Nick Saban, Gene Stallings, Frank Thomas and Wallace Wade.

The Elephant Stomp, a pregame pep rally featuring elephant mascot Big Al, the Million Dollar Band and UA cheerleaders, will begin at 5 p.m. at the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library on the Quad. The band will play the school fight song, "Yea Alabama," and then march down Colonial Drive, leading Crimson Tide fans into the stadium.

    Honorary game captains

Before the game, UA will honor the 2014 SEC championship squad and the honorary game captains who played on that team: Blake Sims, Landon Collins and Jalston Fowler. The 2014 squad was the first UA team to participate in the College Football Playoffs.

    Inside the stadium

The gates at Bryant-Denny Stadium will open at 4 p.m.

A pregame flyover is scheduled by the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence based at Fort Novosel in south Alabama. The pregame flag recipient will be drill sergeants from Fort Novosel.

Recipients of the Nick’s Kids Teacher Excellence Awards will also be recognized before the game.

The weather forecast for the game includes mostly clear skies with temperatures in the low 80s at kickoff and dropping to the upper 60s by the end of the fourth quarter.
