Alabama football played without two of its key wide receivers for the majority of Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer updated the status of Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice on Wednesday ahead of Saturday's game against South Carolina on the SEC coaches teleconference.

Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice injury update

DeBoer said Law and Prentice are going through workouts and are on track for Saturday's game.

"Wouldn't say they are a full go yet," DeBoer said on the SEC football teleconference. "They are on pace as we have hoped."

Law was ruled out with a lower-body injury prior to Alabama's loss to Vanderbilt.

Shortly after the start of the second quarter in Alabama's win against Georgia, Law hobbled off the field after scrambling on a play where quarterback Jalen Milroe tossed the ball back to the wide receiver for a potential pass play.

He appeared as questionable on the Crimson Tide 's first availability report before the Commodores game and was initially called "day-to-day" by DeBoer.

Prentice left Saturday's loss to Vanderbilt with an apparent head injury after Vanderbilt defensive back De'Rickey Wright hit Prentice on a 15-yard pass where he was sandwiched between Wright and cornerback Martel Hight. The hit was originally ruled as targeting, but was not confirmed. Prentice was escorted to the locker room before halftime, and was later ruled out for the rest of the game.

Prentice has seven catches for 92 yards and a touchdown.

    Yhonzae Pierre injury update

DeBoer said defensive end Yhonzae Pierre will be out against South Carolina on Saturday.

Pierre posted a picture on Instagram Tuesday seemingly from a hospital bed with the caption "just a minor (set back) for a major comeback."

"Yhonzae will not be with us this weekend just with his injury," DeBoer said. "I didn't really know the information until yesterday afternoon, exactly where that stood. We are expecting him to be out this weekend.
