LOTTERY players have been urged to check their tickets as a massive prize pot remains unclaimed.
Time is running out for the lucky winner to come forward and claim the jackpot $760,000 prize.
The oblivious victor nabbed the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery ticket at Jordan’s Kwik Stop in Monette in Craighead County, Arkansas, FOX16 reported.
The winning numbers were 15, 16, 24, 32 and 34.
“Such a big prize will benefit not only the lucky winner, but lottery-funded scholarships can be life-changing for college-bound students,” ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong said.
The winnings are the highest in the Natural State Jackpot's history.
NOW OR LATER?
They can get the funds through a one-time lump sum distribution or annuity payments spread out over several years.
Many players elect the lump sum, which has been controversial among lawyers and lottery experts.
If chosen, the lump sum demands a hefty tax be paid up-front to the federal government and Arkansas.
The federal government imposes a 24% tax on all lottery winnings above $5,000.
Arkansas' tax rate is 7%.
A North Carolina player found themselves in a similar position after landing a $100,000 win and losing thousands instantly.
Another $1 million winner in Massachusetts also recently saw about 30% of her money reduced.

I think it is ridiculous that the Federal government takes more than 1/4th of your money for taxes. Taxes were not put in place to steal from us. They were only meant to be temporary but greedy politicians decided they "needed" our money more than we did and they steal from us by TAXING us at every turn.
