FOR the most part, new-builds lack any character - but one savvy woman has turned hers upside down using Shein and TK Maxx bargains.

Proud homeowner Poppy took to TikTok where she proved you don't need to fork out a fortune to revamp a property - the secret to a stunning and funky house can be found on the high street and online.

Before the budget-friendly yet epic glow-up, the woman described her dull bathroom as ''ugly'', explaining that the overall white aesthetic was ''giving nothing''.

In fact, she was so sick and tired of the plain vibe, Poppy said she was feeling ''violently ill'', especially when it came to the square toilet and ''the paint splashes all over the floor''.

Determined to add a breath of life to the boring area, the young DIY fanatic decided to have a look on Shein where she spotted the viral stick-on tiles in a fabulous pink shade.

According to Poppy, who ordered three ten-piece packs, these were selling for an affordable £18 each and shoppers could even enjoy a free delivery.

In total, the ''money-saving queen'' ended up using just two of three packets, sending the remaining back for a refund.

Meanwhile, for decor, Poppy checked out the discount retailer TK Maxx, where she bagged a fake plant in a dainty baby pink pot for a mere £2.99, as well as a stripey towel for £5.99.

Another addition that made a huge difference in the loo was a dusty pink cactus decoration that went perfectly with the theme, standing next to a pink reed diffuser.

All armed with the goodies, Poppy attached the on-trend tiles above the small sink, as well as behind the toilet - however, she revealed, the full makeover is not yet completed.

''I need to get few more bits and get rid of this heinous flooring, need a funkier mirror too,'' the homeowner said in the video.

''I want to paint the top of the back wall pink and maybe the under-sink storage too.''

The simple yet jaw-dropping makeover - which is giving true ''girlie pop'' vibes - has gone down a treat on Poppy's page where it's been viewed close to 100k times.

Amazed by the Before and After snaps, dozens flocked to comments to share their thoughts and praise the cash-savvy home interiors fan.

''That is so pretty,'' one couldn't get over the new look.

Someone else felt inspired by the results, writing: ''I want a pink tile bathroom is the wish when I move out 💗💗.''

''I literally have the same bathroom, I'm going to do something similar I think!! thank you,'' another chimed in.

''Little things can make such a big difference,'' a fourth penned.

Speaking of the glow-up, Poppy later said in the comments that even she was stunned by the transformation.

''It feels like a totally different room now!''
