A BEST Buy customer is urging other shoppers to avoid the electronics retailer after having a gift card take nearly two days to arrive after purchasing online.
The shopper issued the warning on X, claiming he was unable to get any help from Best Buy’s online chat support.

They claimed they purchased two digital gift cards for a League of Legends, a popular battle arena video game, but did not receive the first one right away.
In fact, they said the gift card arrived more than a day later.
“@BestBuy at it again. Bought digital card for league of legends,” the shopper wrote.
“First one took 37 hours to receive. They said it was a security thing because it was a new card etc.”
The shopper did not provide more details on what kind of “security thing” would have caused a delay in delivering the digital gift card.
They went on to claim that when they purchased the second gift card, there was no major delay.
“Second came in 5 minutes,” the Best Buy customer said.
“Now again, with the same card, same account, product, 24-48 hopefully maybe more? Joke!!”
The major electronicsretailer responded to the shopper urging them to contact Best Buy via direct message on X with their purchasing information.
“Thank you for reaching out on X, although we hate to hear you haven't received your digital code,” the official Best Buy X account posted.
“We would be happy to see how we can help.”
However, the shopper was seemingly left unsatisfied.
In a second post, the disgruntled customer claimed they were unable to get any help from the chat support, calling the response a “sham.”
“Please do NOT buy digital gift cards from Best Buy. #BoycottBestBut,” they wrote.
BEST BUY HISTORY REVEALED
Best Buy Co., Inc. is a leading American multinational consumer electronics retailer based in Richfield, Minnesota.
Established in 1966 by Richard M. Schulze and James Wheeler as an audio specialty store named Sound of Music, the company rebranded as Best Buy in 1983, shifting its focus to consumer electronics.
Internationally, Best Buy operates in Canada and previously ran stores in China, Mexico, and Europe.
The company merged its Chinese operations with Five Star in February 2011 and exited the Mexican market in December 2020 due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Best Buy's subsidiaries include Geek Squad, Magnolia Audio Video, and Pacific Sales, and it also manages the Best Buy Mobile and Insignia brands in North America.
Hubert Joly serves as the executive chairman, having been succeeded by Corie Barry as CEO in June 2019.
Best Buy once again responded to the shopper, saying they would be able to work on the issue next week.
It was not immediately clear if the issue had been resolved.
This is not the first time Best Buy has faced the ire of shoppers.
Last month, one customer took to X to claim they attempted to cancel their membership but were still charged by the retailer.
"When you cancel your membership with @BestBuy and they charge you anyways…." the shopper wrote.
"I'm trying to pay off chemo bills…not pay y'all…."
