CAN you spot the three hidden crabs in the sea of red lobsters?
If you’ve been wanting to challenge yourself with tricky brain teasers , this is one of the hardest.
Hidden among the large lobsters are three creeping crabs relaxing on the ocean floor.
If you look closer, you’ll also notice some bright starfish, seaweed, and shells.
Try to time yourself and see if you can find the hidden crustaceans in under 30 seconds.
Don’t be crabby if you can’t find the crafty crabs hiding in the lobsters; we had some trouble, too.
We won’t be shell-fish, don’t worry, here’s a hint for finding the crabs: try separating the image into four squares.
Looking at the top left square, you’ll notice a sea creature that looks similar to the lobsters but doesn’t have a tail: that’s crab number one.
After finding the first crab, the last three come pretty easily.
Scanning down the page towards the center, you’ll find crab number two, and a little below that one you’ll spot the third creeping crab.
Finally, the fourth crab is hidden near the top right corner of the picture.
Had some trouble with that illusion?
No problem; practice makes perfect. Test out your skills with other brain teasers to easily spot the sneaky crabs next time.
If you want to test yourself on an image with a little less color, try this black-and-white illusion.
Hidden inside this landscape image is a secret animal you wouldn’t expect.
Some people can quickly spot an elephant between the trees and birds. Can you find it?
Want more of a scenic picture?
Try finding the hidden Pharoh’s mask in this Ancient Egyptian scene.
Those wanting to try a more nostalgic illusion should try to find the power key in this arcade image.
Can you find it?
A power key is hidden in the gaming setup to help start the engine.
Are you able to find this essential item?
Benefits of brainteasers and optical illusions
Researchers have developed many tests to show how various brain regions react to brainteasers and optical illusions. There are many benefits.
They are not only entertaining, but they also shed light on how our brains interpret visual data.
By giving your brain a little workout regularly, you enhance your ability to focus and observe details.
Studies have shown people who regularly challenge themselves with optical illusions and puzzles see big improvements in their problem-solving skills, concentration, and attention.
Improved concentration and attention span can help prevent cognitive decline in old age.
Optical illusions can improve eyesight by allowing you to see small print.
If you were still searching for the elephant from the previous illusion, it was staring you in the face the whole time.
The outline of the elephant is in the white space, lined by the items in the picture.
Finally, the small Pharoh’s mask lying around in the Egyptian euphoria is hidden in the bottom right corner.
Plus, experienced gamers may be able to quickly spot the power key hiding on the gaming wheel.
How many did you get right?
Try more illusions and brain teasers , then challenge yourself to find the hidden objects in record time.
All I have to do to find crabs is look directly into my underpants. I spent a long weekend in Miami recently and it didn’t go as well as I thought it would.
