A WALGREENS shopper raged at the store and explained what made her ditch her shopping and walk right out.
The customer shared a rant about why her in-store experience made her go to a rival retailer instead.

She claimed she had been unable to purchase her goods because of a long wait for the cashier.
“The last time I went to a Walgreens, I left without buying anything because the manager told me that their cashier was on break and that she’ll be back in 20 minutes,” she wrote in a X post.
This shopper then seethed over the manager’s response in that situation.
“Why she couldn’t check me out is beyond me,” the shopper wrote.
The customer then revealed she took an extreme response rather than wait.
“I left my basket there and went across the street to CVS,” she added.
CHECKING OUT
A large number of retailers have scaled back their use of cashiers and face-to-face checkouts.
Many stores have rolled out more self-checkout kiosks in recent years.
These major retail changes have led to customer complaints across several other companies, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.
Kroger responded to this rant and said it would take action by passing these comments along to it’s team.
Latest self-checkout changes
Retailers are evolving their self-checkout strategy in an effort to speed up checkout times and reduce theft.
Walmart shoppers were shocked when self-checkout lanes at various locations were made available only for Walmart+ members.
Other customers reported that self-checkout was closed during specific hours, and more cashiers were offered instead.
While shoppers feared that shoplifting fueled the updates, a Walmart spokesperson revealed that store managers are simply experimenting with ways to improve checkout performance.
One bizarre experiment included an RFID-powered self-checkout kiosk that would stop the fiercely contested receipt checks.
However, that test run has been phased out.
At Target, items are being limited at self-checkout.
Last fall, the brand surveyed new express self-checkout lanes across 200 stores with 10 items or less for more convenience.
As of March 2024, this policy has been expanded across 2,000 stores in the US.
Shoppers have also spotted their local Walmart stores restricting customers to 15 items or less to use self-checkout machines.
Another Kroger shopper raged about long wait times that had been caused by self-checkouts at their store.
“Dear @kroger – please hire real cashiers. This ‘self’ checkout sucks so bad there is an employee assisting us along,” they wrote .
“Walmart is complete garbage..no cashier’s and 30 ppl in line for self checkout…this place is worthless…” they wrote in a Facebook post.
Walmart has previously said the self-service kiosks were designed for shopper to scan and pay for their goods even faster.
“As customers continue to change the way they shop, we’ll keep looking for new ways to offer choice while saving you time and money,” Walmart’s website reads.
