TEAM GB star Cindy Sember was left emotional after she failed to qualify for the Women’s 100m Hurdle’s final after a shock fall.

Sember heartbreakingly crashed into a hurdle early on in the race, ending her chances of catching up with the group and qualifying for the final.

Sember fell after clipping her heel on the back side of the fifth hurdle in the race.

The light clip knocked Sember off balance and sent her crashing forwards into the next hurdle.

Despite her best efforts to stay up, the 30-year-old stumbled forward and landed directly into next hurdle – slapping the ground in frustration afterwards.

The star chose not to finish the race, registering a DNF.

Sember, who was born in the USA but competes for Team GB, was crestfallen in an interview with the BBC after the race.

Fighting back tears, she said: “I’m okay, I’m really really sad.

“I’m just a little bit frustrated, because I have been training so hard and I’m ready. I’m sad.”

She added: “I felt like I was coming up to the hurdles very quickly and I just lost my control unfortunately. It’s frustrating.

“I was very ready. It’s just really really hard, it’s a little hard to take in, but I’m trusting God with it.”

It’s Sember’s third Olympic games , after suffering heartbreak with a fourth placed finish in the 2016 Rio games and failing to make the final in Tokyo.

Fans online were just as heartbroken for Sember as she was for herself, pouring out messages of support.

One wrote: “Disaster for Cindy Sember. Hope she’s not too badly hurt from that fall.”

While another added: “Aw man, poor Cindy Sember, the legend didn’t deserve to fall like that.”

A third posted: “Poor Cindy Sember hopefully she’s alright!”

And a fourth wrote: “Big up Cindy Sember! So unlucky for her.”

Fortunately, Sember looked as though she got away without a serious injury.
