THE View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin is out of office for the summer.
The TV personality revealed she escaped to the countryside for a break in an Instagram post , days after The View’s season finale was aired.
In the photo, Alyssa, 35, can be seen on a deck chair with her Havanese puppy Herbie perched on her lap.
Her holiday outfit comprised a blue tank top, a pair of shorts, and large sunglasses, with simple gold studs and Alyssa’s wedding ring for accessories.
New York-based Alyssa appeared to be enjoying her break from The View at a gorgeous, rustic property, complete with slanted ceilings and wooden floors.
She captioned her photo: “Summer weekends in the country are good for the soul.”
During the season 27 finale on August 2, Sunny confirmed, “This is the final episode of the season.
“And after 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show that we will do from this studio.
“We’re sad to say goodbye, but we are thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown, state-of-the-art,” Sunny continued. “And we will see you there in September for Season 28 of The View,”
When it first premiered in 1997, the talk show was filmed in ABC Television Studio 23 in New York City.
In 2014, the hit ABC series moved to ABC Broadcast Center.
It is not immediately clear where new episodes of The View will be filmed, following Sunny’s announcement.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, an ABC network source suggested that while The View faces an uphill battle as its audience grows older, it’s unlikely the show will be axed before the November elections.
“The larger issue is that while the show continues to be profitable for ABC and its affiliated TV stations, the audiences are declining every year and they’re getting older every year,” the veteran TV insider said.
“That’s not a reversible trend and it’s why there’s a ticking clock on this franchise.
“With a female in the presidential race, The View can be an important place to discuss the election and even to hear from politicians themselves ahead of November’s vote.
“The next four months are everything as far as maximizing interest in the show and the team they have in place right now.
“They need big guests and they need to make news and if they can manage that, everybody will still have their jobs in 2025.”
The source added that the death of The View’s original creator and host Barbara Walters in December 2022 might mean the show is less likely to survive.
“The fact that Barbara Walters has long since passed makes ending the show outright a lot easier,” they said.
“The decision-makers at the network and at ABC news were afraid to mess with the show too much while Barbara was alive but now, all bets are off.
“The show is profitable, but it’s trending downward and everybody involved knows it.
ENJOY THE VIEW
Despite the bleak forecast, Alyssa’s fans have expressed their excitement over her return to The View next month – ahead of election season.
“Glad you’re having well deserved [sic] rest and relaxation,” one person commented under her Instagram post. “We need you rested when The View returns – there will be lots to catch up on!”
“Alyssa, of all times for The View to be on hiatus! I want to hear what you have to say about what’s going on,” another fan said, referring to the battle for presidency between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
