In a viral video, TikToker Lauren ( @jeffandlaurenshow ), has shared her technique that she hopes saves other parents the hassle of packing school snacks.

Her parenting words of wisdom are all things she wishes she had known as a “first-time mom.”

All you’ll need are three items to make back-to-school a breeze.

Grab a Ziploc type bag, a cutting board, and a kitchen knife.

Before getting started, you’ll need to take one small step.

Turn on the burner on your stove and hold your knife over the flame for a few seconds.

When slicing down the middle of a plastic sandwich bag, the heated knife creates a closed seam.

Voila – you now have two bags that are “perfect for small snacks.”

The bags are ideal for holding the kiddos’ favorite foods.

And mom got to save time and money .

Fans were impressed with the easy snack bag sorcery.

“Good hack if you’re in a pinch and need two small bags quickly!” wrote one user.

“You just changed my life,” said another.

Yet others were just mad they didn’t get a chance to try the trick themselves.

“Omg! this is such a good idea! My baby is now 21 so I missed out,” a user commented.

“Now that my kids are grown!” another TikToker piped up.

Some even had suggestions of their own.

“You could put two different snacks on either side and keep them together,” said one user.

“The back of the knife works better since it has a flat and bigger edge, sealing a large part of the bag, causing it less likely to leak,” another remarked.

“I have two kids seven and eight and I just use a carrier bag,” a third advised.

Some people wrote that you could simply buy snack bags, but one commenter explained how those would be “more expensive” than following this mom’s method.
