‘Everybody good?’ Malika Andrews asks ESPN colleagues on live TV after earthquake rocks NBA Today studio in Los Angeles

ESPN host Malika Andrews kept her composure on a live TV broadcast while an earthquake suddenly took place.
The 29-year-old host of NBA Today was in the middle of an interview when the earthquake rocked the studio in Los Angeles.

While Andrews interviewed the remote ESPN basketball analyst Rebecca Lobo during a segment about the 2024 Paris Olympics women’s basketball gold medal, an earthquake shook NBA Today’s studios in Los Angeles.
Andrews knew immediately what was taking place, and told the TV audience, “We have a bit of an earthquake here in Los Angeles.
“So we’re just going to make sure our studio lights and everything stays safe.
“Everything’s shaking.
“Are you good (camera operator) Mylen?
“Everyone good?”
Andrews thanked Lobo “for bearing with us” and confirmed to the audience again that the studio was shaking due to an earthquake.
The ESPN star Andrews then asked the show’s control room if they were okay.
She continued with the program after receiving word in her earpiece that everything was fine.
It turned out that Los Angeles was rocked by a 4.7 magnitude earthquake.
The earthquake occurred just two miles outside of Pasadena, California .
After the NBA Today program, Andrews shared her thoughts on experiencing the earthquake in the studios and thanked her colleagues for bearing through the sequence.
“Definitely a scary moment here in our LA studios. Thank you to our incredible staff and crew who stayed cool throughout! Stay safe, fellow Angelenos,” she wrote on X.
Fans were impressed with Andrews’ calmness while also being thoughtful for her colleagues during the earthquake.

“Extremely professional,” one commented on X.
“Cool as a cucumber that was impressive,” wrote another on the social media platform.
“That was handled unbelievably! Well done,” a third added.
“This is really good announcing,” a fourth stated.
Monday’s earthquake came a week after Los Angeles was hit with another 5.3-magnitude earthquake.
Andrews has been the host of NBA Today since 2021.
