Prosecutors added riot after reviewing evidence from the day, in which violent yobs looted a vape shop after hurling a beer keg through a window.

The boy, supported by his parents, did not enter a plea and the hearing was adjourned at South Tyneside youth court.

District Judge Zoe Passfield told him: “It is an unusual situation when a new charge is brought after the person has pleaded guilty.

“It opens up complications that I and the lawyers need to consider.”

Northumbria Police said the case showed people of any age who took part in the “recent appalling events” could face “ really serious charges ”.

Two other children, one a boy of 11, were charged with riot in Belfast earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Phillip Hoban, 48, got eight months’ jail for chanting “Who the f*** is Allah?” at an August 3 anti-migrant march.

Hoban told cops he shouted “Who the f*** is Alan?”, but admitted racially aggravated harassment at Leeds crown court.

Dad Kevin Searl, 40, got 21 months for pouring a can of cider over a cop at an August 4 protest in Weymouth, Dorset. He admitted violent disorder.
