NEW York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones certainly hoped for a better NFL comeback.

The Duke product threw two interceptions against the Houston Texans as he returned to the field for the first time since tearing his ACL in Week 9 of the 2023 NFL season.

The Giants took a 28-10 loss on Saturday afternoon.

Jones , 27, started for New York and played the entire first half.

But he showed off a lot of rust early on.

The Giants went three-and-out on their first drive of the day.

Once back on the field, the quarterback found himself under a lot of pressure with first down played from New York’s six-yard line.

On the first play, running back Devin Singletary ran for a two-yard gain.

Jones opted to pass on the second and immediately got in trouble with the Texans’ blitz nearly leading to a safety.

The Giants signal-caller tossed the ball toward tight end Theo Johnson to avoid the sack in his own end zone.

It ended up in Jalen Pitre’s hands at the five-yard line and no one ahead of the Texans safety to stop him from scoring a pick-six, though.

On the following drive, Jones got picked again, this time by corner Derek Stingley Jr. on a deep ball intended for New York wideout Jalin Hyatt.

Jones bounced back to an extent closer to halftime.

The Giants scored a rushing touchdown and a field goal before the break to head to the locker room with a 14-10 deficit.

But they got shut out by the Texans after Tommy DeVito took over New York’s offense.

Jones’ rusty performance came just a day after NFL icon Tom Brady took a shot at the Giants QB for his tendency to throw interceptions.

It happened as Brady discussed his efforts to avoid being overly critical behind the mic with his broadcasting debut on Fox NFL Sunday looming.

“I just don’t want to be so critical, because in some ways I don’t necessarily know exactly what the problem was on that play,” he said at Fanatics Fest NYC on Friday.

To demonstrate, Brady used a hypothetical scenario and said, “Let’s say Daniel Jones throws an interception.”

    The crowd burst out laughing.

“I didn’t mean to say it like that,” Brady then said as he got defensive in front of a New York audience.

“I wasn’t even being critical of Daniel Jones.”

    “Maybe I was a little bit…”
