The comedy legend was spotted speaking with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker on camera at the United Center ahead of the Democratic National Convention .

It’s currently unknown why Colbert was donning the disguise.

Before filling what appears to be a skit for his late-night show, the host was spotted gallivanting around Chicago.

Colbert was enjoying a hot dog at The Wiener’s Circle on Saturday, reported Fox 32 Chicago .

The restaurant shared a picture of Colbert enjoying the hot dog on social media.

“After throwing up in our old parking lot in 2019 (as told by @amysedaris on @smartless), @stephenathome redeemed himself today. Watch the@colbertlateshow Monday night to see wiener circle featured,” read the Facebook post.

Colbert will also be airing his show live from the Midwest as he covers the event.

The late-night host will be joined on the show, which will be broadcast from the Auditorium Theatre, by several high-profile guests.

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will join Colbert on Monday, per The Hollywood Reporter .

Nancy Pelosi and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries will join the show on Tuesday.

Wednesday will feature Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and a performance by Chance the Rapper.

Guests for the remaining two shows have yet to be announced.

Colbert is no stranger to the Windy City.

Before becoming a big-shot comedian, Colbert worked at The Second City’s box office in 1987 before joining the touring company in 1991.

Last month, Colbert aired live during the Republican National Convention and provided real-time updates despite not traveling to Milwaukee for the event.

The DNC, which will take place from August 19 through 22, is set to officially name Kamala Harris and Tim Walz the Democratic candidates for the 2024 Presidential election.

Chicago has since begun ramping up security in order to ensure the convention runs smoothly.

Strict vehicle screenings and a banned items list have been put into place as the Illinois city gears up for thousands of protestors.

The city has also closed several streets near the arena causing many traffic delays.
