‘I can’t stand Walmart,’ fume shoppers as retailer pushes new checkout policy – they’re sure ‘this ain’t gonna work’

WALMART customers are up in arms over a new policy impacting the self-checkout process.

One TikToker shared her frustration after finding out self-checkout was now limited to those with 15 items or less.

She (@ nelliev_official ) recorded the TikTok on her way out of Walmart , venting about the policy change.

She got support from commenters who were also fed up with the change but said she had a “love/hate relationship” with the store.

The policy change has been slowly rolled out over the last few months but does not appear company-wide.

THE COMPLAINT

The TikToker said she was forced out of self-checkout because she had too many items.

However, the employee who helped her with her groceries was not up to her standards.

“Lady, you helping me is not really helping me,” she said to her followers.

The employee allegedly almost dropped the customer’s eggs.

When the TikToker asked why she had to use a conventional or hosted checkout lane, the employee apparently told her it was because of theft.

“This ain’t gonna work,” the influencer said. “People are gonna steal regardless.”

She said she wants to continue using self-checkout despite the policy.

She said that’s because she’s faster at scanning than most employees and doesn’t want to wait for a conventional checkout.

“I’m gonna give you that look if you think I’m not checking out in self checkout because baby, I’m not waiting in line,” she said.

She also said she’d consider other stores.

“I’m gonna take my *ss right to Publix and Aldi.”

Some commenters shared her frustrations.

She’s not the first to complain about the policy change.

Some have slammed confusion over the change.

However, others were excited about the move , which some suggest may cut down on self-checkout wait times for those with just a few items.

Target began limiting its self-checkouts to those with only a few items last year.

Some have claimed the policy is to blame for longer lines .
