FIVE motorcyclists have died in two separate horror crashes just minutes apart from each other – and near the same town.

Three bikers – all men in their 50s – died following the first collision on the A53 near Buxton, Derbyshire at around 9.45am on Sunday.

The crash involved three Ducati motorbikes, a van and a car.

The driver of the van, and two people from the car, were also taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A second fatal crash then took place at around 10.20am on the A6, also in the Buxton area.

The collision, which occurred near Tom Thorn, involved two motorbikes and a car.

Cops said two motorcyclists, both men in their 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

“Their families are aware and our thoughts are with them at this time,” Derbyshire Police said in a statement.

Cops are asking for the public to send in dashcam footage of either incident.

Following the first incident, officers said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage.

“If you can help with our investigation, contact us, using any of the below methods, quoting the reference 24*492531:
