A FURIOUS Walmart shopper has slammed the retailer for allegedly failing to provide a refund despite numerous reminders.

The customer took to social media to share her frustrating experience.

“I placed a Walmart order online and was overcharged,” Angela Walther wrote in a post on Facebook.

Walther explained that she spoke to her credit card company and was told to contact Walmart.

“It took forever to get a person on the phone and this young man was very understanding and apologetic,” she said.

“He said they can’t refund me but they will give me a $5 coupon which I can not use in the store only online with an order over $10.”

Walther argued that the shipping on an online order would cost more than the $5 refund.

She was then told she would receive a refund within 48 hours.

“Today 4 days later I still didn’t receive the refund or an email so I called again.”

Walther claims she was told she would receive an email within 30 minutes, but six hours later she had still heard nothing.

“So I called my credit card company to put in a dispute,” Walther explained.

“Walmart has so much money do they really have to cheat people for an amount under $5???

“Is that how they got so rich?

“Unbelievable I will never order from Walmart again and I told all my friends about it,” Walther declared.

The U.S. Sun approached Walmart for comment on this incident.

    GETTING A REFUND

The Walmart website offers guidance on how customers can get a refund.

It states that typically, debit and credit card refunds are available in up to 10 business days.

How to check whether stores are overcharging

    • Shoppers should always double-check the label of the item they are holding with the label on a store’s shelves
    • If the product was placed in the wrong spot, you could be looking at an inaccurate price
    • At self-checkout make sure to compare the price that is ringed up with the price you saw on the salesfloor
    • For weighted items, it’s important to check whether the scale is set to zero before weighing produce
    • Stores are required to show the weight on the display, so managers should be notified if it’s hidden
    • Scales also shouldn’t be touching any other part of the self-checkout
    • After paying, shoppers should compare what they paid with the salesfloor price of the items

This repayment method, however, takes significantly longer than a Walmart Gift Card refund, which is available within three hours.

There’s also an option for customers to get a refund if they don’t have a receipt.

Facebook users took to the comments of Walther’s post to express their sympathy.

“I try very hard not to shop at Walmart – especially online for this very reason,” one user wrote.

“And, thank you because I’m never going to order from them then I don’t need extra stress in my life,” another said.

Walther is not the only shopper to have experienced refund issues.

Another customer claimed Walmart had refused to offer a refund after an item they did not purchase was added to their receipt.

“We were overcharged $9.48 for a fish hook that we did not buy,” the shopper said .

Walmart reportedly told the shopper that she would have to have the fish hook to get her money back.

However, since she did not purchase the hook, the refund could not be issued.

“So we did not get our money back,” she wrote.

“How many times a day do they rip people off.”
