MORE clues have emerged suggesting that Samsung may be plotting a cheaper version of its flagship Galaxy S24 smartphone.

The South Korean tech juggernaut already let slip that such a device is probably on the way a couple of weeks ago when a product listing accidentally appeared on its website.

A mid-range version of the Galaxy S24 showed up on the company's French website before it was mysteriously pulled down.

But now another hint has been spotted by eagle-eyed Samsung fans.

And it's all because of a certification for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE edition.

It's not the first time Samsung has launched an FE model - these tend to be much cheaper than the flagship versions equipped with slightly lower specs.

The certification that's been unearthed comes from the Buearu of Indian Standards (BIS), which companies have to go through before their devices go on sale.

Fans couldn't help noticing that the product number used in the BIS filing is identical to the one that appeared on Samsung's website slip-up.

Rumours have already been swirling about the types of upgrades we can expect for this year's FE.

It's claimed that there could be a bigger battery and a brighter screen on board.

Leaks also suggest that a load of AI features could be coming too, which Samsung has been going big on this year.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest the camera won't be changing from last year in a move that could disappoint photography lovers.

    Last year's FE cost £599 / $599.99, considerably less than the S23 series which started at £849 / $799.99.

And if you want to compare to release dates, the S23 FE was launched on October 4 before going on sale on October 26, meaning we could be little over a month away from official news about a successor if a similar pattern is followed this year.

It all comes as Apple is rumoured to be plotting its own cheaper iPhone model, with a brand new SE version.

    AI ALL THE WAY

Samsung unveiled brand new foldable devices, the Flip 6 and Fold 6 with a major focus on AI.

AI translation features are no longer stuck to just Samsung's own apps as part of the wave of upgrades.

It means users can translate conversations directly from apps like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger without leaving the app - it works in real-time and on voice conversations too.

Elsewhere on the AI feature front, the company introduced some improvements for photography lovers using the Flip in flex cam mode, such as auto zoom to detect the subject and automatically zoom to capture the best angle.

And AI-powered portraits can transform your photos with fun alternative art styles.

You can also use your finger to roughly sketch out an illustration which AI will then change into a proper image or drawing.
