    Woman, 31, shot dead by police after ‘attacking officers with knife’ in German supermarket

    A WOMAN has been shot dead by police after allegedly attacking officers with a knife at a supermarket in Germany.

    Cops had received reports of a person acting aggressively in the grocery store in the Munich district of Sendling, this evening, according to reports.

    The suspect , aged 31, was then killed shortly after 6pm local time on Monday.

    She died from her injuries at the scene.

    Officers are said to have first encountered the woman at the supermarket on Implerstrasse before initially using pepper spray.

    It is not clear how many cops fired at her.

    Photos from the scene show officers and a marked vehicle outside the store.

    The Munich Homicide Squad and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office are now investigating the use of firearms, reports BR24 .

    A police spokesperson said evidence was continuing to be collected in the store.

    The street in front of the supermarket was closed off following the incident before re-opening later on Monday evening.
