A SURPRISING accessory many working women already carry in their bags could be the key to a gorgeous mascara application.
Laura Kay shared must-try tips from her over 20 years of experience in the cosmetics industry.
Kay is a former celebrity makeup artist turned permanent makeup expert based in London, England.
She teaches over 50 students annually in an academy training program.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared beauty tips for a flawless face.
MIRACULOUS METHODS
Kay said applying mascara doesn’t have to be a messy and tedious process if you use a handy item.
“Apply mascara with a business card behind your lashes to prevent smudges on the eyelids,” she said.
“Any excess mascara or smudging will end up on the business card as opposed to your eyelids.
“Just make sure the business card is clean and sanitize regularly to avoid any irritations or infections.”
She revealed the hack isn’t the only unconventional trick used by professional makeup artists.
“Some people swear by using lipstick as blush or eyeshadow for a quick and cohesive makeup look,” she said.
“A popular unconventional makeup application tip as lipstick often has a creamy texture and vibrant pigmentation, making it versatile for use on cheeks and eyelids.”
AWFUL TECHNIQUES
Kay said common makeup mistakes can cause you to appear older .
The over-applying of foundation is at the top of her list as it gives a “cakey” appearance.
“Putting on too much foundation can make your skin look thick and unnatural like there’s too much makeup on your face,” she said.
“If you don’t blend your makeup well, especially foundation and other products like blush or bronzer, you might end up with visible lines or patches on your skin, which will not appear smooth or natural.”
Using the wrong shade of foundation, can age you or wash you out.

Choosing the right products is just as important as how they’re applied.
“If you pick a foundation that doesn’t match your skin tone correctly, it can make you look older than you are or make your skin appear dull instead of radiant,” she said.
