HAVING the best body someone’s ever seen is pretty high praise — and even more impressive when you’re in your 50s.

One woman says her sister-in-law’s got a fantastic figure and revealed how she stays in shape — including a monthly habit that really helps.

“My sister-in-law is in her mid-50s and she has one of the best bodies I’ve ever seen, hands down,” Redditor Egriff78 said.

While she may have been blessed with good genes, Egriff78 said she also sticks to a tough routine to keep her body looking amazing.

    SECRET SAUCE

Her sister-in-law’s recipe for success starts in the kitchen.

“She is very strict with her diet,” she said.

“She lifts heavy in the gym and has monthly blood tests to ascertain her vitamin [and] hormone levels.”

The Cleveland Clinic recommends getting hormones checked for a variety of conditions, including menopause.

Abnormal fluctuations in hormones can cause issues like weight gain.

A vitamin deficiency test may also prevent or explain uncomfortable symptoms.

The sister-in-law is also single and child -free, which frees up her schedule.

“[She] dedicates a ton of time to her diet, workouts, lifestyle, [and] trainer who supports her,” the Redditor said.

    SHE’S PLENTY FIT, TOO

Meanwhile, the Redditor has her own routine for optimal health — and she’s not doing too bad herself.

“I’m in the best shape of my life right now, but it’s ‘work,'” she said.

She said she is in her early 40s and swears that weight lifting and a diet consisting of high protein, fats in moderation, and low carbohydrates along with intermittent fasting works for her.

“I do invest as much time and effort as I can because I want to be healthy and strong as I age [and] not to mention, look good.”

    OLDER AND HARDER

She admitted that it’s definitely not easy to keep fit and toned as you age.

“It gets harder as you get older in every way, even if you’re genetically blessed due to family, kids, responsibilities, hormonal/metabolic changes, time constraints,” she said.

“I imagine [it’s] even tougher when you go into menopause.”

But, she added, “the returns are huge.”

“You are automatically so much ahead of your cohort. The majority of women over 35 are overweight, out of shape,” she said.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) physical activity is crucial as we age.

The CDC recommends 150 minutes of exercise weekly for adults, which averages out to 30-minute sessions five times per week.

They also say that two of those workouts should involve “muscle strengthening,” such as weight training.
