‘Done with Kohl’s!’ slams shoppers over ‘completely stupid’ discount policy deadline – blasts company is ‘a lost cause’

A SHOPPER has called out Kohl’s over a discount policy deadline, threatening to boycott the chain for good.

They claimed the deadline wouldn’t allow them to use perks built up over time during a recent trip to their local store .

Nearly $20 in Kohl’s Cash was supposedly lost in what would’ve been a sweet deal for the customer.

Kohl’s Cash coupons can be earned when shoppers purchase in-store or online during a promotional period.

At least $10 in the coupon is awarded for purchases of $50 or more during the earning time, per Kohl’s website .

Additionally, the deals can be stacked, so $100 spent gets another $20.

The frustrated shopper had collected at least $19 in Kohl’s Cash and intended to use it before they were informed that a 30-day deadline to redeem the coupon had passed earlier this month.

“@Kohls – frustrating that Kohl’s Cash is restricted on the ‘amount of time’ you are required to use Kohl’s Cash,” they fumed in a post to X, formerly Twitter.

“Completely stupid! I’ve lost $19 in Kohl’s Cash.”

The customer was so furious that they decided to cancel their Kohl’s credit card , which also earns 7.5% Kohl’s Cash rewards on every purchase, with $7.50 automatically attributed to every $100 spent, per Kohl’s site .

“I’ve canceled my credit card due to this,” they wrote.

“Done with Kohl’s!”

Kohl’s quickly responded to the shopper’s complaint, noting that the deadline was necessary for coupons but it never intended to upset shoppers.

“Please know, it is certainly never our intent to upset our customers,” the retailer replied.

“Kohl’s Cash is a coupon and as such, using it within the redemption period allowed is the best option.”

Still, the customer wasn’t satisfied with Kohl’s note, calling the 30-day limit on Kohl’s Cash “inexcusable.”

They suggested a three to six-month redemption period but noted it was a “lost cause” and that they were “done” with the retailer for good.

DISCOUNTS DEMANDED

It wouldn’t be the first time in recent months that Kohl’s has been criticized by customers for frustrations with Kohl’s Cash.

A glitch supposedly occurred in the Kohl’s app for a shopper in July that prevented them from redeeming their Kohl’s Cash during a promotional period.

They cried that they were out a 30% discount and all of their coupons.

Another shopper echoed a nearly identical complaint, saying they were awarded a 40% discount, but the retailer “wouldn’t let” them use it with a login issue.

It’s unclear if the two Kohl’s customers got an extension due to the technical error.

Kohl’s also announced a new pop-up experience with an iconic brand that should arrive just in time for Christmas this year.
