NFL star Travis Kelce recently landed his first major acting role and has a new cameo

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end plans to become a “heavyweight” figure in music and entertainment.

Kelce has seen his star power rise after going public with his girlfriend Taylor Swift last summer.

The 34-year-old has now been cast in the new horror series Grotesquerie.

Directed by American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, the drama is set to land on FX this fall.

Kelce will appear in the show alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville.

In August, Adam Sandler confirmed Travis will make a cameo in his upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel.

The news comes after Travis previously showed interest in appearing in a possible reboot.

The upcoming film, which comes nearly 30 years after the original, will be released on Netflix .

    PUT ME IN, COACH!

Earlier this year, Travis, who won the Super Bowl with his team in February, expressed his desire to expand his career from sports into film.

In a May episode of his New Heights podcast , the NFL tight end addressed a conspiracy theory about appearing in a Happy Gilmore sequel.

It’s good, it’s good. We walked hard on this script, man. We didn’t want to let anybody down.”

The fan conspiracy came after Travis was seen wearing a Happy Gilmore hat in public.

Fans noticed and asked the football star about earning a role in the motion picture.

“I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2, but if there is I’ll be a [freaking] extra,” Travis exclaimed.

“Anything to just get around Happy Gilmore or an Adam Sandler film or set. Count me in.”

While noting it was just a conspiracy at the time, Travis added, “Who knows? Theories can come true.”

“Theories can be true and just people don’t know about it, so I might even be in the talking and nobody knows about it. But I could also not be in the talking,” he added.

Travis and his brother, Jason , 36, continued to discuss a possible role for him to play in the sequel.

“Maybe play the Bob Barker role?” Travis said after noting his recent hosting gig on Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?

Jason said Travis could be the caddie for Shooter McGavin, Adam’s arch-nemesis in the film.

“Like I said, I’ll do anything in the movie,” Travis said. “I’ll be a part of it any way I can.”

Along with his new cameo, Travis is also set to appear in the upcoming TV series Grotesquerie on FX.

The NFL star has risen in popularity over the past year through his public relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift , 34.
