NFL star Travis Kelce has proven he is a top football scholar at Tight End University.
A clip of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end showing off his incredible situational awareness at the teaching camp he co-founded has gone viral.
Kelce formed Tight End University, an annual summer program for tight ends, alongside San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle and Fox Sports broadcaster Greg Olsen .
And a video of Kelce explaining how he reads defensive coverage from the event in Nashville over the summer has left NFL fans in awe.
“I genuinely appreciate a thorough explanation of what goes on in his head…,” one fan said.
“How could you read the coverage, make a decision, react, and make the catch within seconds??
“This skill does not even seem easily teachable??”
Another fan noted: “Boys all had their pens out but you can tell some are having trouble seeing what he sees…”
Among the tight ends who took part in this year’s camp were the Lions’ Sam LaPorta, Eagles’ Dallas Goedert, Albert Okwuegbunam and C.J. Uzomah, Jaguars’ Evan Engram, Bills’ Tre’ McKitty, the Vikings’ Shaun Beyer, Robert Tonyan and Josh Oliver, and the Saints’ Foster Moreau and Juwan Johnson.
Kelce recently explained why he is so passionate about the training camp.
“It’s such a cool opportunity and a unique opportunity because it feels like you’re at an all-star game, it feels like you’re at a Pro Bowl, because it’s very seldom you get to get this many guys in your profession in one room from different teams,” Kelce said on the New Heights podcast, per the Kansas City Star .
“And it’s just so cool to hear everybody’s stories about what they’ve been through kind of how their coaches teach them certain routes or certain blocking schemes.
“You get to just bounce ideas off of each other, and I think it’s helped my game out a lot just hearing from guys.”
Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes recently revealed that the tight end is much more intelligent than he puts on.
“He puts on this persona like, ‘I’m partying, I’m drinking [or] whatever’ but he’s really super intelligent,” Mahomes told Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, per Fox News .
Kelce was seen receiving a warm welcome from Kittle and Olsen when he arrived in Nashville for the fourth edition of Tight End University.
The three-day event also had a concert starring Jon Pardi, and a flag football game against a team of teenage girls .
Before his tight ends training camp, Kelce was spotted playing golf with the legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky.
