THE Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly pulled off another intradivisional trade, acquiring wide receiver Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders.

The move marked the second NFL trade done between the two NFC East rivals in recent months.

The Eagles shipped Dotson and a fifth-round draft pick in exchange for a 2025 third-round and two seventh-round selections in the “rare in-division trade,” NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Thursday.

It came three months after Philadelphia and Washington did business together during the 2024 NFL Draft .

On Day 2, the Commanders sent picks No. 40, 78, and 152 for the Eagles’ Nos. 50, 53, and 161.

NFL fans were caught by surprise seeing the two NFC East teams back at the negotiating table again.

“[Commanders head coach] Dan Quinn wanna be an Eagle so bad I’m crying,” one posted on X.

“Commanders are Eagles fans,” another wrote.

    “Strange bedfellows,” a third said.

“Lol Washington must love the Eagles or really hate Dallas [Cowboys]. Prob both,” one wrote.

Washington selected Dotson in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In two years with the team, the Penn State product logged 84 catches for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Some fans speculated whether the Commanders gathered extra draft capital to make a trade offer for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk .

Aiyuk has been involved in a contract extension standoff with the 49ers for the past few months.

Not long ago, the All-Pro wideout mentioned Washington as his possible next team if he was to leave San Francisco this summer.

The 49ers began listening to offers for Aiyuk at the beginning of August.

Talks between the two sides have reportedly progressed since then, though.

The receiver is yet to practice with the team, holding out of training camp while demanding a new contract.

And San Francisco is preparing for the possibility he might not be available for the Week 1 clash with the New York Jets.

“That’s what we got everyone competing for right now,” 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said recently.

“We have Jauan [Jennings], who’s done a lot of good stuff for us here over the years.

When guys are healthy, he’s always majored as our slot receiver. But we’ve used him outside, too.

“He’s always been capable of being outside, and he’s probably the first we would look to because he has been our No. 3 receiver since we’ve been here, and at times, in some big moments, we’ve used him like a No. 1 guy.”
