The popular sports talk show set up a temporary set in J. R. Mahons Pub, in front of a rowdy audience as well as a traditional Irish band.

The tone was set from the word go, with live music and river dancers welcoming the show on-air while McAfee and his co-hosts enjoyed a beer.

As the show progressed, the beers and shots piled up, McAfee commented, “It feels like this show is only going to be good if we hammer 100 beers.”

Later, McAfee claimed he and co-host AJ Hawk had consumed edibles while on their flight over.

“When you’re flying international, you cannot land into different countries with edibles or weed,” he said, via the Daily Mail .

“AJ as a friend of mine had bought a bunch of edibles.

“Pilots tell us to make sure there is none of that on the plane because when he lands it is going to get checked.

“AJ you and I both had probably 100mgs on the plane.

“It is similar to my trip to London from Indianapolis when I had 13 edibles.

“Last night was a very similar situation. AJ and I were on about 100mg each.”

McAfee was also joined by GameDay colleague and college football icon Nick Saban during the show.

Saban was watched on by his wife Terry from the side, with McAfee accompanying her onto the set at one point for a dance.

As the show progressed and the alcohol continued to take its toll, the emotions seemed to kick in with McAfee even conjuring up a touching rhyme in a toast to their fans.

“We came to Ireland, to have some fun, we’re chugging beers, we’re already drunk, American football has become a dream, everybody in here is a part of our team,” he said, before downing another beer.

As the show came to an end, McAfee admitted he had “just puked” before going on to admit he was “s**tfaced right now.”

“I don’t know how we were supposed to have a show in Ireland without this happening.”

    Pat McAfee's playing days

Pat McAfee enjoyed a hugely successful stint before switching to a career in the media.

The talk show star played punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.

He was a seventh round NFL Draft pick in 2009 out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The ex-punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and he was a first team All-Pro in 2014, as well.

McAfee owns the unique NFL record of the highest career net average punting yards with 41.4 yards while his longest ever punt was 74.

Naturally, X was flooded with comments from fans throughout the broadcast.

“Pat McAfee is drunk out of his mind,” one wrote.

“These dudes are so sloshed and I’m all for it!!” said a second.

“This was by far my favorite show I’ve seen,” commented another.

While a fourth tweeted, “Jesus Christ Pat McAfee was a disaster today,” along with laughing emojis.

McAfee will be back on air on Saturday morning starting at 9am ET on GameDay.
