Sharing pictures of her new home, she revealed that she broke off her engagement and gave her ex the house they bought together to get a fresh start.

The woman wrote: "I broke off my engagement, let them have the home we bought this year, and with the rental market being absolutely insane I’ve had to take an unconventional route to living."

" My mum has been using this 10x20ft “tiny house” as an office/storage space on her property until her official office space is finished. It sits on 20+acres of trails and a pond."

In the pictures the blue shed had a small wooden patio to relax on and inside it was a blank canvas minus a table and chairs and a sink.

Now, Serina was planning to make it her own little home to save cash on rent.

She continued: "Long story short, I will be moving in soon, and need ideas for maximising space while still making this feel like home."

Currently, there was no bathroom in the shed but she and her mum were planning to get one built alongside a small kitchen area.

Serina went on to ask those in the group for any ideas on space saving furniture and storage ideas.

While many would see the the change of lifestyle as a negative, Serina revealed she was happier than ever.

"It felt nearly impossible for so long but I’m so much better off," she commented under the post.

The post shared to the Facebook group, Small Space Living, has since gone viral with over 1.9k likes and 430 comments.

People were quick to support the young woman and in awe of her new home.

One person wrote: "Will be such a nice sanctuary."

    Another commented: "Lucky you!"

    Tiny Homes FAQs

The tiny house movement began in the USA before gaining popularity in the UK.

    What is a tiny home?

Tiny houses are small, fully-equipped living spaces designed to lead a more sustainable, off-grid lifestyle. Although they vary in size and shape, tiny homes tend to be between 15 and 50 square metres in capacity, made of sustainable materials and are easier — and cheaper — to maintain than traditional brick homes.

Are tiny homes legal in the UK?

As long as the tiny house doesn't exceed 19.8m x 6.7m in size, it is defined as a caravan in UK law. Therefore, tiny houses are classed as legal additional living space.

Can you get a mortgage for a tiny home?

The small size and relatively low cost of tiny houses means they’re not generally considered eligible for a mortgage. However, there are plenty of options to take out a loan to fund your dreams of the perfect, moveable home.

"Such beautiful surroundings I’m sure you will make it your own. Lots of luck in the future," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Wow! That's awesome!"

    "Super cute,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Seems like heaven."
