AN avid runner decided to make some money from his hobby and help others improve their stats in a popular app.

Strava is a free fitness app that runners, cyclists, and other athletes use to track their miles.

It's an easy way to connect with others and compare your stats to your friends.

However, some users have found a way to hack the system and make it seem like they have more miles or faster run times.

TikTok user Veljko (@velljko) admitted in a recent video that he is a "Strava mule" and runs for other people.

"Basically, someone will pay me to run a race with their Strava account on my phone," he said of his side hustle.

He ran the Brooklyn Mile, a popular road race in New York, for several people last year.

He tracks his stats on his fitness watch and will either log into clients' accounts on his phone or take their phones and run with them.

Surprisingly, not all of his clients want him to run quickly.

"A good chunk of my clients want a slow mule," he said.

This way, their friends are more impressed when they run a race themselves and are way faster.

"Certain clients give me their phone, and they even want me to go the extra mile by messaging their spouse a picture of Central Park and a screenshot of the run," he said.

Veljko can earn $23 every 30 minutes during his runs and has invited people to hire him for his services.

"Wow, congrats on finding your niche," commented one viewer.

"Thanks, now I'll ask my husband to send a video selfies every time he goes running," joked another.

The extra income made from side hustles may need to be reported to the IRS.

If you receive more than $600 in gross payouts from a selling platform like eBay, the site will issue you a Form 1099-K to use in your tax return.

Individuals should calculate their adjusted gross income, taxable earnings, and deductions for the year.

Once they have that, they can use the 1040-ES form to calculate estimated taxes.

He made $5,000 through Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) selling. This is when sellers store their inventory and take on the responsibility of shipping.

The youngster would go to Costco with his mom and scan between 50 and 100 items using the app.

It shows him current listings and sales rates for the product so that he can estimate his profit.

He said he made up to $5,000 monthly but did not reveal shipping costs.

In the comments, people who had tried the side hustle said it was "gold" and very easy.

Another TikToker revealed they made $900 weekly with their food delivery side hustle.

A simple scooter side hustle could earn you $700 daily.
