The teenager, whose parents said she suffers from a disability, went missing on Thursday morning after she left her father’s home.

Barker left home without her phone as it was charging, according to Fox affiliate WNYW .

She had last been seen around 10:30 am in the Wall Street area on Thursday.

The teenager was then found by a security guard at the Seward Park Library in the city on Friday.

This guard recognized Barker from an information bulletin.

He called local police who immediately came to the library.

The teen was then rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

Police called Barker’s stepfather and then Facetimed him to confirm her identity, according to The Tribeca Trib .

Barker’s family explained they were worried about the teen as she seemed to have missed at least one dose of her medication before she left home.

They believed the teen could have faced a medical emergency if she had not been found quickly.

A family friend added that the libraries had been one of the teenager’s favorite places to visit in the city.

Barker’s mother, Saida Barker, spoke out and thanked the guard and community following the incident.

“The community showed immense support and flooded downtown with flyers, and people canvassing the streets,” she told The Tribeca Trib.

“There were several chats from downtown dedicated to mobilizing people and, thanks to them and the NYPD, we were able to find her.”

She called the guard “the real breakthrough” for spotting her daughter.
