REDDITORS blasted a selfish shopper after they brought their own traffic cone to reserve a spot in a crowded parking lot.

The photo will make any Costco shopper feel instant rage.

One Costco shopper decided to combat the struggle by bringing a traffic cone and using their truck to block a space

Any Costco shopper knows parking is the hardest part of the warehouse experience.

Navigating the crowded aisles or waiting in line to buy a cart full of groceries is nothing compared to finding a spot in the massive but packed lots.

One shopper was shamed in the r/Costco subreddit when they decided to ensure their friend or loved one would have a spot.

An orange traffic cone sat between a shopper parked in the lines, and a large Ford pickup truck intentionally parking over the lines.

They used their truck to occupy two spaces, and a cone to keep smaller cars from taking the spot.

“He even brought his own cone!” the post was titled.

The post was created 18 hours before the time of publication, and in that time, the photo earned almost 3,000 upvotes.

Over 400 Redditors couldn’t help but comment on it.

Many were creative about how they’d enact revenge on the greedy truck driver.

Some said they would move or steal the cone for themselves, while others said they’d place it on the hood of the truck.

Several others suggested the OP should have surrounded the truck with shopping carts and locked them together with zip ties.

A keen user noticed a backed-in truck wouldn’t be very helpful for a load of groceries.

“Yeah, but he also backed in, not ready for all the shopping in that truck bed?” they asked.

“I bet this dude is only there to eat a $1.50 hot dog. How lonely.”

Costco’s website says the parking lots are monitored with cameras, but no other rules are posted

Deep in the comments section, the poster provided users with an update.

“I took a picture of this guy walking towards the front of my Costco, he was in the truck so he likely noticed,” they wrote.

“Ten minutes later I walked by again and his truck was moved over to a single spot and the cone was gone. A Prius was soon parked next to him.”

They wrote the truck was then parked correctly for an extended time.

“This truck was in the lot for a solid two hours, not entirely sure what the intention was,” they wrote.

Redditors quickly replied to the update, suggesting that the driver seeing his picture taken likely shamed him into correcting his actions.

    Costco membership sharing guidelines

Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they've been cracking down on offenders in recent years.

    • Primary Member Use : Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
    • Household Card : Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
    • Guest Policy : Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
    • Authorized Cardholder : For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

However, some thought the driver didn’t have bad intentions but was getting creative to meet his needs.

“I’ve seen something like this happen before where the guy was disabled, but all handicapped parking was occupied,” they wrote.

“He had to put a cone just like that, although he was driving a van that has a ramp.”

Costco’s website doesn’t say anything about reserving parking spaces, but it does say all parking spaces are monitored with cameras.

To get specifics on whether or not the driver’s actions were against company or membership rules , The U.S. Sun has contacted Costco.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t come back to his truck some day parked like that and his truck is keyed beyond belief and had four flat tires. I have seen multiple times vehicles intentionally taking to parking stalls only for the driver to come back to the horror. In today’s time, you just never know.
