TUA Tagovailoa's brother Taulia Tagovailoa has put his NFL aspirations on hold for the immediate future.

After graduating from the University of Maryland, he pursued a sixth year of eligibility with the intent to transfer in January, but his waiver was denied by the NCAA.

Taulia then entered the 2024 NFL Draft but was not selected by any teams.

The University of Maryland product attended NFL mini-camps with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals but failed to make either team.

He ended up signing with the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats practice squad on June 10 of this year.

But has not taken a snap in a regular season game up to this point.

Taulia had a successful college football career but never garnered the same attention as his older brother Tua.

He spent his freshmen year of college as a backup quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

His brother and Mac Jones sat above him on the team's depth chart.

Taulia didn't play much in his freshman year and ended the season completing nine of 12 passes for 100 yards and one touchdown.

On May 15, 2020, Tagovailoa announced he would be transferring to the University of Maryland.

In his first year at Maryland, he played in four games and led the team to a 2-2 record.

His biggest win came against Penn State when he broke the school's 5-game losing streak against them.

Taulia completed 75-of-122 passes for 1,011 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions

At the end of the season, Taulia was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.

Taulia returned as the starter for the 2021 season and led Maryland to their first winning season since 2014.
