Howie Mandel admits he ‘made a mistake’ on AGT live show and feels ‘embarrassed’ after fans slam him for mishap

AMERICA’S Got Talent judge Howie Mandel has owned up to his mistake of confusing two country artists during Tuesday’s live show.
Howie , 68, jumped the gun after watching singer Dee Dee Simon perform her rendition of Lose Control during the show’s third round of Quarterfinals .

After the performance, Howie praised Dee Dee by telling her it was so good that it “knocked his shoes off.”
“I gotta tell you something. I would imagine Jelly Roll is gonna be posting that,” Howie told Dee Dee.
“You made him proud. You made it your own,” he added.
WRONG GUY, WRONG TIME
Viewers quickly noted that Howie mixed up the two artists and called him out on X .
“Can someone please explain to @howiemandel the difference between @JellyRoll615 and @TeddySwims. That was embarrassing, Howie,” one person tweeted.
“Did Howie Mandel say that Lose Control was by Jellyroll? Uh….Teddy Swims is who did that song,” a second wrote.
“Damn I didn’t know Jelly Roll and Teddy Swims sang the same song,” a third joked.
“FYI the song Dee Dee sang was ‘Lose Control’ by Teddy Swims not Jelly Roll. Just thought you should shout out Teddy too & give credit where credit is due,” another said.
Howie took accountability for the mistake and responded directly on the social media platform.
“I know the difference and I’m embarrassed,” he wrote back to one disgruntled fan.
“I made a mistake. Love them both,” the comic replied to another fan.
“I love Teddy. I blew it,” he admitted once more.
America's Got Talent judges
THOUSANDS of hopefuls have graced the America's Got Talent stage to showcase their abilities.
Simon Cowell – On October 22, 2015, it was revealed Simon was replacing Howard Stern on the AGT judges panel. He became a judge during the program’s 11th season and has since remained a series regular.
He also told another viewer they were “right” after they called out his mistake.
Despite the mix-up, the judges gave Dee Dee’s rendition of the hit song rave reviews, with Heidi Klum hitting the Golden Buzzer and sending her to the finals.
The Golden Buzzer is now included in the live shows for Season 19 after only being used during auditions in previous seasons.
HOWIE’S FREAKOUT
This week’s moment for Howie comes after he caused a stir during last week’s second round of quarterfinals.
Exclusive footage from The U.S. Sun showed Howie getting heated with fellow judge Simon Cowell after Simon stole his Golden Buzzer act.
Last Tuesday, live audiences saw Howie rage at Simon for hitting the buzzer for Airfootworks after the dance group’s performance.
“I am just about to get myself fired,” Simon said before hitting the button, which Howie went to grab immediately after.
While fans saw Howie yelling at Simon after the moment, the animosity didn’t stop there.

Tensions remained high when they left and headed backstage for their media promotional duties after the show.
When Howie saw Simon enter the room, he stopped talking to his interviewer and asked his fellow judge, “Why did you pick my act? You tried to steal my Golden Buzzer.”
Simon ignored him, prompting Howie to purposefully stand in front of Simon as he took group photos with the other judges.
“I didn’t know Simon was going to go for it. Then I was just listening to him and he goes, I’m going to get in trouble for this,” Howie said in his interview.

“And he started standing up and I went, no. And I got there right in time because my reflexes are like that of a, I’m actually 68, but I have the reflexes of a 63-year-old.”
The judge also confirmed the two had not squashed their beef over the moment and that Howie was planning to head to human resources.
Howie also insisted the drama was not a PR stunt in any way.
Others chimed in, with Heidi even saying Simon could “do what he wanted” as AGT’s head honcho.
“We, I love that he breaks the rules. If anyone can break the rules, it’s the boss and yeah, again, we love him for it because he is just wild and crazy,” she said.
Ultimately, host Terry Crews , 56, confirmed Howie would be granted his Golden Buzzer act despite Simon’s rule-breaking.
