CUPCAKES are usually a crowd-pleaser at birthday parties, but one teacher doesn’t want to see them in her classroom.

She insisted that there are better — and less messy — treats for children to bring to school instead.

TikToker and teacher Ann Brackemyer ( @kbcrayons ) detailed the dos and don’ts of kids’ birthday treats in a viral video .

“Let’s talk birthdays in the classroom,” she said. “These are some great options for birthday treats.”

She also offered up some general advice when it comes to birthday goodies.

    “Keep it simple,” she said.

    NO MORE CUPCAKES

The kindergarten teacher and mother of four said that she knew her stance was an “unpopular opinion.”

“Please don’t bring cupcakes,” she urged.

She explained that the tiny desserts tend to leave behind an enormous mess.

“And the kids honestly don’t eat them that great,” she added. “They are just a mess.

“The frosting gets all over and the kids aren’t sure what to do.

“It’s just too much for them and it’s too messy.”

Luckily, Brackemyer had a few tricks up her sleeves on how to celebrate a child’s school birthday the right way.

First, she recommended cookies with sprinkles saying, “The kids love them.”

She noted that children actually eat the sweets instead of making a mess with them.

Brackemyer also suggested small-sized donuts as another option.

For her third choice in birthday indulgences for kids, she recommended individually-sized ice cream cups.

She recalled how she added sprinkles to them, saying, “They loved it. It was so fun for them and they ate it all.”

Finally, she praised Little Debbie brand treats as an excellent option.

“These are just simple, easy snacks that you can bring for your child in their classroom that are not as messy,” she said.

Other TikTokers took to the comments section to give their two cents on the sugary birthday treats.

“I want to add for parents to be mindful of ‘allergy kids’ and check in with the teacher,” one wrote.

“My daughter has been excluded so many times because we didn’t get a heads up and she can’t eat any of that.”
