Fatman Scoop ‘given CPR on stage’ after collapsing in front of crowd mid-performance as rapper rushed to hospital

HIP-HOP legend Fatman Scoop was rushed to hospital on Friday night after collapsing on-stage mid-performance.

Disturbing footage appeared to show the star being given CPR after passing out behind a DJ booth – as panicked concertgoers screamed in confusion.

The hypeman, real name Issac Freeman, 53, was performing a set at the Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut when the frantic scenes unfolded.

After addressing the crowd at the front of the stage, a shirtless Freeman walked behind the DJ booth and collapsed, video obtained by TMZ shows.

Another performer stopped the music and continued to talk to the crowd as emergency responders rushed over and starting giving him chest compressions.

Desperate fans could be heard screaming at the performers, asking if Freeman was okay.

“Nothing going on – on the stage. I just want to say this – Hamden, where y’all at, make some noise for me heavy baby,” another performer was heard telling the crowd in the video.

Onlookers were heard saying “Oh my god!” and “We want to know what happened to Fatman.”

“Is he alright?!” another screamed.

Blurry footage also showed Freeman on a gurney outside of the venue as first responders crowded around him.

They continued to perform chest compressions outside as one fan was heard saying, “Lord touch him – please Father, God touch him.”

First responders arrived at the concert and took him to a nearby hospital.

Hamden’s mayor, Lauren Garrett confirmed on social media that Freeman was the performer who received the chest compressions.

She announced that Freeman had a “medical emergency” and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

“Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers,” she added.

‘PRAYER’S UP’

Hip-hop fans sent prayers and well wishes to Freeman after news of his medical emergency circulated on social media .

“I REALLY hope he comes out of this ok. Prayers up for Fatman Scoop,” one wrote.

“Praying for Fatman Scoop,” another added.

“Keeping Fat Man Scoop in my prayers and hoping he is ok,” a third said.

Freeman burst into the rap scene in the 1990s with hits such as Be Faithful and a feature on Missy Elliott’s Lose Control.

He also appeared on Mariah Carey’s hit song, It’s Like That, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Freeman was recently featured on a new song with Dyce Payso called Let It Go.

The music video for the song dropped just hours before he took the stage in Connecticut.

He promoted the video on his Instagram in a joint post with Dyce Paso.

On August 13, he shared that the duo had just finished the track, praising Dyce’s talent.

“Sometimes you just know when somebody got ‘it’ which I think he does,” Freeman said.

“On top of making a lot of great relationships for himself. Pay attention to dude. I see really good things happening with the young homey,” he added.

“He has the look, the songs, but more importantly- HE WORKS HARD! and u CANT COACH THAT!!”
