PAT McAfee has jokingly suggested that Nick Saban wants to quit ESPN College GameDay over his antics at the weekend.

In a viral video, McAfee is seen dancing on set while Lil Jon‘s Snap Your Fingers plays during the pregame show hosted by Texas A&M.

Meanwhile, Saban had a serious expression on his face – and even appeared to side-eye his ESPN colleague during the commercial break.

Several fans had fun with the video after it went viral on Twitter/X – and quickly became a meme.

And McAfee took the time to address the issue on social media.

“So was Coach Saban side eyeing me out there??” he posted.

“I was vibin during the commercial break… minding my business.. going thru some notes.. livin.

“They’re saying Coach wants to quit because of it.”

McAfee was clearly making jest of the hilarious moment, with Saban having had a bright start to his life on ESPN College GameDay .

As Saturday’s show at College Station came to an end, the former Alabama head coach was hugged by a shirtless McAfee while co-host Lee Corso danced in a leprechaun outfit.

“We told it’d be different once you got here, didn’t we Nick,” Rece Davis told Saban.

“You know I never knew any of this,” Saban replied.

“I never experienced any of this. I’ve never been to anything like this.

    “This is so much fun.”

Many fans quickly responded to McAfee’s comments about Saban ‘wanting to quit’ the show.

“Don’t buy it, patrick. he secretly loves finally being one of the boys,” one fan said.

“You and Saban are the best parts of GameDay. Change nothing it. The boys are loving it,” another fan said.

    College football's 2024 shake-up

Oklahoma and Texas switching from the Big 12 to the SEC is one of the biggest changes to college football in recent times.

And that has set off a chain reaction which has left the Pac-12 conference decimated.

The Pac-12 has lost 10 of its 12 members and is down to just Oregon State and Washington State.

Four of those teams are headed for the Big 12 – Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.

Another four are going to the Big 10 – Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.

And the other two teams, California and Stanford, will join the ACC conference.

No teams have left the SEC, Big Ten or ACC.

“We need Saban and McAfee at every game this year. Iconic duo,” a third fan noted.

Saban joined the much-loved ESPN show following his departure from Alabama in January.

He will be a regular on GameDay throughout the 2024 college football season.

The coaching icon will also provide his insight during ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage, while also covering SEC Media Days.

Saban had another viral moment on Saturday when the subject of playing college players came up.

“You guys keep talking about a 20 million dollar roster. If you don’t pay the right guys, you’ll be s**t out of luck,” Saban said.

Kirk Herbstreit quickly responded: “Congratulations – you just broke the internet.”
