    JOEY CHESTNUT and Takeru Kobayashi have done battle for the final time in their thrilling 15-year rivalry.

    For the last time, the giants of competitive eating have faced off in a hot dog eating contest.

    16-time world champion Chestnut has gone up against six-time champ Kobayashi in Netflix’s ‘Unfinished Beef’ special.

    Chestnut had said before the event: “Through all of my years in competitive eating, Kobayashi stands out as my fiercest rival.

    “Competing against him pushed me to be so much better.

    “I know that fans have waited a long time for another chapter of our rivalry and I can’t wait for our massive showdown live on Netflix! It’s time to give the people what they want!”

    Who won Joey Chestnut vs Takeru Kobayashi?

    Joey Chestnut set a new WORLD RECORD to thrash Takeru Kobayashi to win 83-66 in the 10minute contest.

    Chestnut started quicker from the offset, marching into a six-dog lead by the midway point.

    The 16-time champ Chestnut then extended his lead and dominance in the final five minutes with Kobayashi unable to catch up.

    What were the rules?

    • 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as possible.
    • No dunking or pouring water on hot dogs and buns.
    • No separation of hot dogs and buns.
    • Penalties may be issues for rule breaks and regurgitation.
    • 30 seconds to finish what’s left in their mouth at the end of 10 minutes.
    • Excess crumbs to be weighed and deducted from scores if necessary.
    • Tiebreaker: three minutes overtime. If a second overtime is necessary, the winner will be the first to finish five hot dogs and buns.
