This shopper (@KRanee327) blasted Walmart for one of its payment systems.

The chain has a touch-free payment system called Walmart Pay.

Customers can use this to pay with their phones at checkouts, by storing credit, debit, or gift card information on an app.

This is an alternative for people who like to tap with Apple Pay as Walmart does not accept this payment method.

One shopper claimed Walmart's system did not work for her and this left her in a tricky situation.

"What’s the point of @Walmart pay if it never works?!" the angry shopper wrote in a scathing X post.

They shared the extreme response they had to this issue.

"Had to leave all my groceries at the register and go to Target," the shopper said.

The customer begged the chain to make a change to its checkout area.

"Wish yall would just get with the times and accept Apple Pay like everyone else if you aren’t going to have a pay system that actually works," they added.

Walmart responded to the X post and asked this shopper for more details.

"Let's address this issue," the chain said.

    PAYMENT ISSUES

This shopper has not been the only Walmart visitor to complain about the stores odd payment rule.

The chain's refusal to take Apple Pay has led to some shoppers labelling the retailer as outdated.

Why doesn't Walmart offer Apple Pay?

CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don't offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.

Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that "We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time."

The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.

"That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for," he said.

Apple Pay has become one of the most popular payment methods in the county but Walmart has doubled down on its refusal to accept it.

This made one shopper rage in a furious X post, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.

"I'm in line and Walmart doesn't have tap," this person shared in a post.

"Tap to pay, Google Play Apple play. it's 2024," they added.

Another shopper shared how this rule made her wait even longer at the self-checkout.

"I forgot my card & just had to sit at Walmart for 20 minutes waiting for my man to bring me HIS card so I could pay for groceries," she said.
