THE family of a missing Marine is worried that he’s in an extreme crisis that led to his disappearance over a week ago.

Lance Corporal Bailey Cameron’s mom and dad said that the 23-year-old was under immense pressure in the weeks before he vanished.

Cameron , who is stationed at Camp Pendleton in California , hasn’t been in contact with his friends or family since August 25.

He is set to exit the Marine Corps on September 9 after five years in the service.

The Rad Movement, a nonprofit organization that has been helping Cameron’s family search for him, said that the upcoming transition was weighing on him.

“Bailey is a great kid,” Sharie Finn, the founder of the Rad Movement , told The U.S. Sun.

“He was set to end his five-year term as a faithful marine who fulfilled his duties with integrity on September 9.

“At this time we believe Bailey is an active crisis,” she continued.

“It could be stemming from a number of things, from his impending exiting, to the way he was being treated the last two months, we are not clear.”

    NEW ASSIGNMENT

The Marine’s parents, Kevin Cameron and Juliana England, opened up about how Cameron was reportedly treated at Camp Pendleton in a live Facebook video on September 2 with The Rad Movement.

“He’s been expressing a lot of stress, a lot of pressure and a lack of compass in where to go from here because there aren’t a lot of supports when you finish as a Marine,” England said in the video.

England also said that Camp Pendleton put Cameron in a new position after he announced his exit – and the assignment brought him to a low point.

“When he made it clear that he wasn’t going to re-up, they put him in a gym and were making him clean up in a gym,” the worried mom said.

She added that the assignment was disappointing because Cameron had been trained to “jump out of airplanes and dive underwater and climb up on the side of the ship without being noticed.”

“He has all of these amazing, incredible skills and he felt very humiliated and very broken over the way that his service ended,” England said.

“We just want to get him across the finish line,” his dad said, referencing his exit on September 9.

Camp Pendleton declined to comment on Cameron’s duty assignment when approached by The U.S. Sun.

    Timeline of Bailey Cameron's disappearance

Lance Cpl. Bailey Cameron hasn't contacted his friends or family since August 25.

1:30 am on August 25 – Cameron was seen on video leaving Coyote Bar & Grill in Carlsbad.

August 25 – Cameron’s glasses, backpack, and phone were found on the sidewalk. Cameron was reported as missing.

August 28 – Video footage from an ATM on Camp Pendleton’s base showed Cameron.

August 29 – Cameron’s mom later said on Facebook that he was seen near Oceanside, California.

Around 11 pm on August 31 – Family and the Rad Movement claims that a fellow Marine interacted with Cameron on base before he ran toward the ocean. He reportedly told the Marine that he had been on base the whole time.

Video footage from August 25 shows Cameron leaving a bar in Carlsbad alone, which police said is the last time he was spotted .

His eyeglasses, backpack, and phone were found on the sidewalk a block away from the bar he was at, which is located about four miles away from Camp Pendleton.

    REPORTED SIGHTINGS

However, Cameron’s parents and the Rad Movement say that there have been several more sightings of the missing Marine that police and the Marine Corps won’t acknowledge.

“We are unclear why can’t Pendleton and the police have not commented on the sightings,” Finn told The U.S. Sun, adding that it’s “disheartening.”

At this time we believe Bailey is an active crisis.

Sharie Finn Founder of the Rad Movement

Surveillance video and pictures put Cameron at an ATM across from his barracks on base on August 28.

Cameron’s mom also said on Facebook that he was spotted in Oceanside on August 29.

    ‘VISIBLY IN DISTRESS’

Finn then said that Cameron interacted with a fellow Marine on base on Saturday, August 31.

“I personally spoke to the fellow Marine who encountered Bailey on this past Saturday night at 11 PM,” Finn said.

“The fellow Marine was very clear that Bailey was visibly in distress. He indicated that he tried to help him, before Bailey [fled] on foot.”

The Rad Movement said in a Facebook post that Cameron claimed to the man that he had been on base the “entire time” since he was reported missing on August 25.

Local Fox affiliate KUSI reported that after the interaction, Cameron ran away toward the beach.

He was reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts at the time.

    ‘MINIMAL’ COMMUNICATION

Officials at Camp Pendleton have not confirmed any speculative sightings of Cameron.

“Local commands are still [pursuing] locating and making contact with the missing Marine, no additional updates or developments have occurred at this time,” a Marine Corps spokesperson said on September 2.

Finn told The U.S. Sun that communication with police has been scarce.

“Carlsbad police have communicated minimally,” Finn said.

“Sadly, there is a significant lack of clear communication, diligence, and even competency,” she later added.

Cops have asked that anyone with information about Cameron’s whereabouts contact the Carlsbad Police Department at 442-339-2197.
