ROD’S TROUBLES

Authorities released footage that showed multiple men pulling out guns and starting to shoot after a car pulled up at the bar.
Car horns began going off before shots were fired.
Bystanders were seen running for cover as the shooting began, and cars were seen peelling away.
Four people were injured, including a teenage girl, in the St. Petersburg, Florida , shooting.

Bullets hit six cars, and 60 shell casings were found at the scene.
Christopher Atkins, 24, Keith Wesby, 22, and Kevontre Websy, 21, were named among the shooters and have been arrested by cops.
At the time, police said two additional subjects were due to be taken into custody.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Rod Wave, born Rodarius Green, owned the car that the shooters drove away from the scene in and had been renting the home they drove to.
Police obtained a search warrant for the St. Petersburg home shortly after the incident.
They seized five rifles, five handguns, ammunition, over $10,000 in cash, and several pieces of jewelry .
During a news conference to discuss the arrests , authorities said they had been investigating a violent group known as the “YGs” or “Young Gangsters” since the summer of 2023.
The group has allegedly been involved in drug trafficking and shootings, and various members were seen with Rod Wave after the investigation began, the Tampa Bay Times reported at the time.
ROD’S ARREST
Rod Wave was arrested on a weapons charge in connection to the searches at two properties rented to him and his businesses.
He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, but his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, refuted the claim that the musician was actually a felon.
“He was wrongfully arrested,” the attorney said, as reported by XXL .
“He is not a convicted felon, he committed no crime and the responsible parties for this sham arrest will be held accountable.
“The judge already immediately released him without requiring a bond.”
Mark Rankin, another one of Rod Wave’s lawyers, told TMZ, “The officers that made the arrest are incorrect.
“We would have hoped additional research would have been done prior to them filing these charges.”
He later told Tampa Bay Times, “The entire basis of that allegation was that the ammunition was on a kitchen counter or a table adjacent to a folder that had some papers with his name inside.
“That’s it. That’s certainly not enough to charge somebody and certainly not enough to convict him.”
