‘Your guests aren’t dolls you can dress up’ people cry as ‘bridezilla’ bans guest’s outfit then asks if she’s ‘crazy’

A ''BRIDEZILLA'' has come under fire after she banned a female guest's outfit, as it was ''too similar'' to her gown.

The woman, from the US, specified a dress code ahead of her wedding day, requesting female attendees arrive in ''cocktail attire'', such as dresses, chic skirts or dressy jumpsuits.

However, when a pal sent her a snap of the look she wanted to go for, the stunned bride immediately shot her down and insisted the outfit resembled her white frock.

The friend had styled a slinky, sleeveless black top over a flowing, full length tulle gold skirt, which featured a tiny black polka dot pattern - a fit that she reckoned fitted the code.

Unfortunately for the guest, the bride didn't agree, as she said it ''looked very similar'' to the colour of her wedding gown.

''She said “well your dress isn’t polka dot, now is it?”,'' the woman shared the drama on Reddit.

''Am I the crazy Bridezilla here?'' asked fellow Redditors for advice and their thoughts.

But much to toe bride's surprise, hundreds called out the original poster, with everyone agreeing on one thing - that the two outfits were totally different.

''That looks nothing like your dress, I thought the issue was going to be that her outfit was too casual for your dress code if she was pairing it with that top,'' one reckoned.

Another agreed, writing: ''That skirt doesn't look remotely bridal to me - it looks yellow or light gold, regardless I don't think anyone is going to confuse her with the bride.''

Amongst social media users, there were plenty who thought the woman was being ''nit picky'' about the guests' attire, especially given that there was already a specified dress code they had to follow.

''You, wear fall colours. Also you, no, not like that,'' one joked.

''I think you'd be veering into bridezilla territory by quashing her outfit, you said elegant fall colours and she hit the nail on the head,'' someone else penned.

Others thought the American bride had her priorities all wrong.

''Why not focus on the love of your life and your marriage rather than obsessing even more than your clothing announcement already does,'' one wondered.

There were also those who insisted she was being far too controlling, with one critic writing: ''Your guests aren't your dolls that you can dress up how you want, there's nothing remotely bridal about this outfit, stop it.''

But not everyone raced to slam the ''bridezilla'' - one person, for instance, argued that if the pal had sent the snap without being asked to, then the bride was more than entitled to give her honest thoughts.

This comes after social media users insisted a wedding guest's ''pink'' gown is the same colour ''brides wear''.

Posing in the champagne maxi gown, Kate (@worm5063) said: ''I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and I was going to wear this dress.''

The fabulous gown, which also featured flower detailing and a bow on the back, was ''very clearly pink'' in her eyes.

But despite looking like a real-life princess, Kate was soon slammed on the platform, as not everyone thought the ''pink'' dress was suitable for attending a wedding in.

''Being honest - that dress looks beige/cream, not pink to me,'' wrote one person.

''Wouldn’t risk it, it’s a colour I’ve seen brides wear.''
