SHOPPERS have insisted on traveling to Walmart for self-checkout services after Dollar General closed a few of its kiosks.

The store announced they would use regular checkout services solely by posting a “sorry” sign at the self-checkout registers.

On Sunday, one Facebook user posted a picture on the Funny AF Spiritual Memes group page of a Dollar General self-checkout kiosk.

The post insinuated that customers have been stealing from the store by not scanning all of their items.

Due to Dollar General’s constant issue , a store posted a sign claiming to have closed their self-checkout registers because of “dishonesty.”

“Due to dishonesty, self-checkout is CLOSED,” the note read. “Sorry to all the honest people.”

One Dollar General shopper, Chelsea Clark, shared their frustration with the lack of self-checkout kiosks.

“100% hate dollar general since they took away the self checkouts,” Clark wrote in a Facebook post .

“I will drive 30 minutes to Walmart to do a pick up order just to avoid having to stand in a checkout line!”

Though Clark enjoyed using the self-checkout line, other shoppers have spoken out against it.

“I can’t stand the self checkouts…I’ll leave the store if that’s all they have,” commented one customer.

“I just started going back to Dollar General since you don’t have to do self-checkout,” wrote another.

Dollar General has since removed its self-checkout kiosks from over 12,000 stores nationwide.

During the company’s earnings call in May, CEO Todd Vasos revealed their plan to focus on reducing merchandise loss.

“Shrink continues to be the most significant headwind in our business,” Vasos said .

“We were able to see through AI, what has transpired over the course of many months of transaction data at self-checkout.

“And what we’re able to see was how much shrink — true shrink we’ve had.”

Some customers witnessed security tags being added to shopping carts.

“You know the drill,” wrote one Facebook user, adding, “When you go shopping in your small town market (DG) and you see a basket with security tags….”

“[Am I] missing something?” questioned the shopper.

He accompanied his post with a picture of a bright yellow Dollar General shopping basket with a security tag attached.

Fuck self checkout. Not my job to do their job for them. At a minimum self checkout should come with a 5% discount for temp employment.
