Urgent Powerball warning to check tickets as $500,000 prize remains unclaimed – bosses issue warning about cash

LOTTERY officials have urged players to check their tickets as a $500,000 prize has less than two weeks to be claimed.

The Powerball ticket was purchased in Colorado almost six months ago.

The player bought their ticket from a King Scoopers grocery store in Arvada, Colorado, about a 20-minute drive from Denver, local ABC affiliate KMGH-TV reported.

There are just 10 days left for the winner to claim their $500,000 prize.

According to the Colorado Lottery, the player purchased a Powerball Double Play ticket for the March 23 drawing.

They matched all five numbers but missed the Powerball.

The winning numbers for the drawing were 18, 24, 43, 46, and 47.

Winners have 180 days to claim their prize from the date of drawing.

So this lucky player has until September 19 to come forward.

Lottery officials have warned that if the money remains unclaimed, it will not be available for anyone else to collect.

The money will go to Lottery partners to support causes including wildlife preservation projects.

But this is not the first time lottery officials have urged Colorado players to check their tickets.

A warning was also issued in June for the winner of the $500,000 to come forward.

It seems that officials are making a last attempt to try to find the lucky winner.

And many other lottery prizes across the US have also yet to be claimed.

A Mega Millions ticket purchased in Ohio for last Friday's drawing was worth $2 million and officials are waiting for the player to come forward.

They matched five of the six numbers after picking up their ticket at a Mickey Mart.

Meanwhile, a Powerball and a Mega Millions player won a combined $2.1 million in California last month.

The first player won an incredible $1,176,502 after matching all five white balls but narrowly missing the red Powerball.

And the second individual landed a Mega Millions prize worth $1,016,356.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since the start of June when a player in Illinois won it.

No one was lucky enough to claim the $740 million jackpot in last Friday's drawing, meaning the total has now risen to an estimated $800 million for the drawing tonight.
